Geneva Announces Spring Yard Debris Pick-Up Program
The City of Geneva has announced the 2025 Spring Yard Debris Collection Program. The program will begin on Monday, April 7, 2025, and end on Friday, June 27, 2025, subject to weather conditions. Property owners and residents may place leaves, grass clippings, weeds, and small brush debris between the sidewalk and curb for removal by the Department of Public Works.
All leaves, grass clippings, weeds, and small brush debris should be placed in paper bags. Plastic bags will not be accepted. The City will provide a limited number of paper lawn/leaf bags for those interested. These bags can be picked up at the City Clerk’s office, located on the first floor of City Hall at 47 Castle Street, during normal operating hours.
Loose brush, branch, and limb debris must be no longer than 4 feet and not more than 6 inches in diameter. Residents are advised to consolidate small piles of debris into larger piles to help expedite pick-up. The final pass through the city will begin on June 16, 2025.
Debris will not be collected on private property, near parked cars, or in plastic bags. The City will not collect plastic, stumps, rocks, stone, construction debris, lumber, garbage, glass, furniture, rugs, bedding, tires, or similar items. Residents are encouraged to recycle and coordinate with their trash hauler for these items.
Additionally, property owners and residents can bring yard debris to the City’s Resource Recovery Park, located at 41 Doran Avenue. The park is open on Wednesdays from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM and on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
